Site Analysis & Design

Design begins by collecting data on client interests and needs, site conditions, off-site opportunities, as well as climatic and environmental influences. Combined, data provide the necessary reasoning for design development. This course allows students to challenge their analytical, narrative, drawing, and drafting skills to express proposed design concepts. Along with site analysis, introductory exploration will include site design, construction layout, grading and drainage, earthwork computations, landscape construction materials, and design details. The course utilizes hand drawing techniques to express landscape ideas and design documentation.
